Patricia González Grangué founded CoLOURRise® Inc. as a way to address the inequalities faced by many deprived children she encountered while working as a public school educator and a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer. She personally experienced the frustrating efforts of not being able to access resources for low-income, oppressed, and underprivileged student populations. Due to a lack of educator training and preparation, and limitations imposed by their geographical locations, she understood the dire need to empower such communities with differentiated tools and resources that would enable them to thrive. Many of the students she assisted included children of migrant working families and refugee families who were unable to adequately provide their children with academic and economic opportunities, resulting in an ever-growing gap in educational performance and systemic inequalities.

CoLOURRise® Inc. was developed as a collective response to the needs of these children, who are part of the current educational profile imprinted worldwide. As it grows wider, so do the needs of the students, their families, and educators who influence them.

Patricia holds a Master of Arts in Bilingual Education/Principalship for Grades K-12 from the University of Texas-Pan American, Edinburg, Texas, and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas. She is a retired Texas-certified teacher who has served as a Bilingual Instructional Reading/Dyslexia Specialist and private online academic tutor, implementing various differentiated content and grade-level curricula.
